Getafe - Barcelona analysis. The best Christmas gift for Barça (06/11/19)

In the last soccer match between Getafe and Barça, the referee's decision weren't fair and either accurate. The referee showed a lack of profesionality and a lack of accuracy in his decisions, a legal goal was nulled to Jaime Mata for Getafe CF and a big amount of Barcelona's faults and wastings of time weren't pointed, indeed, they showed and undistinguised behaviour at Coliseum Stadium.

   

   Since the begining of the match a very solid, organised and agressive Getafe was watched. In point of fact, they were willing to beat Barcelona since the minute 0', but Barcelona was frightened since the starting point. Bordalás's plans were to put underpressure Barça since the initial point, and it worked, Barcelona was uneasy during the entire match.

   In the initial minutes, 9', after a good ball Ángel scored in the Ter Stegen's goal, it would was the best begining possible, Getafe 1 - Barcelona 0, but in this ball, Lenglet fell down so, the referee nulled the Mata's goal without any doubt and without ask to the VAR's opinion because of Ángel Rodríguez apparently tackled Lenglet.

   From my point of view, the VAR would correct the wrong referee's decission in case of a goal scored,  but they didn't. 

"It is very clear on TV that there is no contact between Ángel Rodríguez and Lenglet"

   As a result, the goal was nulled. The logic says, in cases like this, the goal should score and later the ball should be checked by the VAR in order to give the best and fair decission. Because sometimes it would be difficult to judge an on going match, and the VAR has the proper technology to do it.

   All the things are different when the opposite team is a big team, as Barça, and the affected team is a small team, as Getafe. In the Spanish league in case of any doubt, the referee's decission is in most of the times in favour of the big teams.

   Some minutes later, 20', Leo Messi scored for Barça, the real 0-1, and as Bordalás said,

"The match would be very different without the handicap that we started losing 0-1, we were very affected by the referee's mistake"

   A regret the negative final result for Getafe, 1-2, all the Getafe supporters were satisfied at the end of the match. Getafe played  fluently, productively and bravely against the leader, having a lot of good balls with three strikers, J. Molina, J. Mata and Ángel. It is very clear for all Getafe supporters the team tried their best but it is impossible to play against Barcelona and the unprofessional referee.

   In other side, the winners, Piqué and his coach, Valverde, gave their favourite excuse to justify their rough game and suffering because of Getafe's intense pressure:

"The pitch grass was so dry"

   In conclusion, the VAR technology doesn't make the league fairer, perhaps in some cases, of course even with this new technology, the referees are doing the same mistakes, and what a coincidence!, it is always in favour of big teams as Barcelona, Real Madrid or even Athletic de Bilbao, which Getafe suffered the first penalty stolen this season because of this "useful" technology.

   Getafe supporters are sick and tired about this situation, and we are going to keep complaining and spreading the truth to fight for a better referee system in the Spanish League.
