Image

In this post, we are going to discover why this game is so particular and extraordinary for locals from Getafe and  Leganés.   The first documented game between Getafe and Leganés was on 25th April 1948, when both squads were playing in the Local Second Division. Nowadays, the context has changed a lot, The Deep Blues and The Cucumber Growers can enjoy and show proudly their derby in the highest Spanish division.   The rivalry between The Deep Blues and The Cucumber Growers is historic. That rivalry started around the middle of the last century, when players from each team were locals, they were working and living in each city, and their passion was football. At this time, football in Southern Madrid wasn't a matter of money, but a matter of feeling

The moment that Spain's National Team has to be represented by Getafe player is getting closer. Getafe has had great players during all the seasons in First Division and, nowadays the club is on the top table's positions so it is getting closer the moment that one of the Deep Blue's player defend La Roja again.    The Spain's selection has the first classification phase for the 2020's Eurocup on 23rd and 26th of March, it is going to be played around the main european countries. The selected player's list could be so interesting for any Getafe supporter, because some players could be listed, due to the brilliant season that Getafe is doing in LaLiga. Luis Enrique, the Spain's coach, might trust again in a Getafe player in order to defend the Spain's National Team. If he won't that's mean he needs to revise his sight because it is crystal clear that at least one of the blues has to be in. The main candidates are one of the three base p

The truth about Getafe's female team.

Image
Ángel Torres said in Onda Cero, a Spanish radio station, that  Getafe CF will have finally the female team that the locals women were asking for since more than 10 years. This new came up just a couple of days after the International Women's Day.   Getafe managers' objective is to play in the top female's division, where there are already playing female clubs as Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona, Bilbao, and so on.    The project would start with setting up a female soccer school for girls from 12 to 14 years old, and after, the school would be grown up in the following seasons in order to set up the base for the professional female team.    In other words, Ángel Torres wants to set up the female school with no cost for Getafe,  he doesn't want to assume any economic risk . He would like to train his own players at early age, and after, to build the professional female team using them as base. It can be seen as a chance for the women, in t

The worst coach in Getafe´s story in LaLiga.

Image
Getafe CF has had many coaches in LaLiga, but not all were good enough. After Víctor Muñoz's words last week we had a question, which Getafe's coach has been the worst one? In this article the answer will be unveiled.    Firstly, last week in Radio Marca, Víctor Muñoz, Getafe's ex-coach, congratulated José Bordalás and Getafe team for their good results in the on going season, But at the end of his words he left a disappointing comment to the chairman, Ángel Torres. "José Bordalás is doing a really good job with this club, despite of its chairman. I am very happy for them as a club because they are 4th but not for their chairman."    Víctor Muñoz's words are funny specially in Getafe, because he was one the worst coaches that Getafe ever had in First Division.  It is sure that Víctor Muñoz is still jaundiced due to he was fired just after a training session from Getafe, after a long trend of bad results and bad excuses to justify himself.    In t

Why does Getafe's colour is deep blue?

Image
Nowadays, Getafe's uniform colour is very well known, the team is called "The Deep Blues", but where does this colour come from?    The Getafe story took off in 1924, when Getafe FC was founded as a lower division team. Getafe FC disappeared because of the Spanish Civil War (1936 - 1939). Just after the war, in 1946 five Getafe locals: Amelio Miranda, Antonio Corridor, Enrique Condes, Manuel Serrano y Miguel Cubero, who used to met all together at "La Marquesina Bar" in the town, re-founded the local football team as "Club Getafe Deportivo".    At this time, Getafe was a small town, so all the players were locals, and most of them were working in construction, farms and in all kind of manufacturing jobs, so they used to wear deep blue coveralls. The had the training sessions just after work so they came up to this sessions with the same deep blue coveralls that they were wearing at their work places. For that reason, they decided to set up the

The Getafe's erotic video. Hot Zombies.

Image
After the second Royal Cup Final and the Europe League Quarter Finals, Getafe was losing supporters. Due to the higher prices, the seasonal tickets sold was getting smaller. Coliseum was getting emptier every season and its atmosphere way sad. In 2011, Ángel Torres had a brilliant idea to promote the seasonal tickets’s selling and to attract more people to Getafe: “To record a funny video with adult content, a groundbreaking advertisement which surely would become viral”    Ángel Torres himself took part in the playscript creation. As everyone could guess, the play scripts’ topic wasn´t very elaborated. It was about an alien virus which was spread in a water vending machine at Coliseum. The virus could infect all the women who drink the infected water. The first woman who was infected was Paola (Claudia Bomb), she worked in a Getafe supporter’s party at the stadium when she was infected by the virus. As she drank the water, she started to behave in a strange way, she was

Valencia Getafe. The worst show ever.

Image
In the Royal Cup quarter finals between Valencia CF and Getafe CF we were witnesses from a lamentable show. The referee was again very unfair with Getafe so all Getafe team was very annoyed and mad. The game was previously warmed up by the press and after the match the players fought between them like in a street brawl. The brawl continued into the tiers with some Valencia fans who insulted to Getafe fans who had been attended to Mestalla.     The worst show ever watched started by the press, who had been warming up the game for one week. Just in order to create a viral header title, like a click bait, instead of promote a quality enough journalism.     Before the match, Some Getafe supporters, who had been attended the match in Mestalla, suffered insults from Valencia fans. Also, and this is not going to appear in the press, many Valencia fans were chanting "Damián Suárez son of a bitch" during the whole match.     In terms of the referee, sir Estrada, l

Getafe CF would have to downgrade to Second Division before.

Image
Plenty of changes has happened to Getafe CF since it they downgraded to Second Division in 2016 and since they came back to First Division in the following season. Nowadays, Coliseum and the supporters are in all its splendour, but not always it has been like now .    Getafe made his debut in First Division in the 04/05's season, and after 12 years in a row in the highest division, they downgraded for their first time to Second Division at the end of the 15/16's season.    During the first seasons, the number of Getafe supporters grew up, when the things were going well  people took and advantage of the momentum to support the team, especially when, during the season 07/08,Getafe played for first time the UEFA Cup, they were eliminated by Bayern Munich in quarters finals. Also, Getafe were subchampion of the Spanish Royal Cup two times in a row, in 06/07 and 07/08 against Sevilla FC and Valencia CF, respectively.    After this Glory Days, the decline would come. I

Getafe - Barcelona analysis. The best Christmas gift for Barça (06/11/19)

Image
In the last soccer match between Getafe and Barça, the referee's decision weren't fair and either accurate. The referee showed a lack of profesionality and a lack of accuracy in his decisions, a legal goal was nulled to Jaime Mata for Getafe CF and a big amount of Barcelona's faults and wastings of time weren't pointed, indeed, they showed and undistinguised behaviour at Coliseum Stadium.        Since the begining of the match a very solid, organised and agressive Getafe was watched. In point of fact, they were willing to beat Barcelona since the minute 0', but Barcelona was frightened since the starting point. Bordalás's plans were to put underpressure Barça since the initial point, and it worked, Barcelona was uneasy during the entire match.    In the initial minutes, 9', after a good ball Ángel scored in the Ter Stegen's goal, it would was the best begining possible, Getafe 1 - Barcelona 0, but in this ball, Lenglet fell down so, the r

The future Getafe's idol: Hugo Duro

Image
The striker Hugo Duro was born in Getafe in 1999, he started his career in Getafe CF's youth soccer school when he was just 5 years old. Nowadays, he is already the best young talent of the blue team. In October 2017, he debut at the age of 18 with the first Getafe CF team in a Royal Cup match against Alavés. His debut in LaLiga was a few months later, in march 2018, he substituted to the idol Jorge Molina in the latter match's minutes. Original source:  https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dtm4U_VW4AYCs_Q.jpg    During the season 17/18, he almost achieve the Getafe B's upgrade to Second Division from Second Division B, furthermore he played the playoffs.    Currently, he is still playing in Getafe B, but he trains very often with the first team, and he is a frequently resource for José Bordalás in order to introduce fresh air to the team in the latter minutes.  Day after day, he is helping a little bit more to the first team. Hugo Duro is a young soccer player an

The real Jorge Molina´s value for Getafe CF. Contract renewal?

Image
The experimented striker Jorge Molina will end contract with Getafe CF in June 30th 2019. Currently, he is playing a brilliant season.  W hen he was hired for Getafe CF in 2nd division the press said: "Jorge Molina has been hired by Getafe, the player goes there just to finish his carreer"  as saying that his retirement would be very close. Even so m ore than two seasons have been passed since he signed in July 2016, but nowadays he is still a key player in Bordalás´s Getafe. The fact is Jorge Molina have been shown a high fitness level and good performance since he signed for Getafe CF. He is one the most experimented strikers in LaLiga indeed he is always keeping calm and he doesn´t crack under pressure. Physically, he is tall and strong, so when Jorge Molina is present in the pitch, Getafe keeps the ball for longer time in the opposing team´s area rather than in the dangerous zone. He is probably one of the best striker in LaLiga attacking giving the back

The lack of fairplay in Getafe CF

Image
Since the season 16-17, when Bordalas became the Getafe's coach, Getafe is known as an unsporting and agressive club. Every team under José Bordalás coaching has shown a strong personality.  Bordalás  is synonimous of  competition ,  high intensity  and  rough playing . This features don´t depend on the opposing team, his players never give up and they fight until the end. The Bordalás´s Getafe is achieving a high competition level with one of the shortest budget in the Spanish League (35 millions of pounds). They are proving that a large budget is not required to play at great level. Due to  Bordalás´s Methodology , some regular players would become a key players to achieve the objectives, as Sergio Mora two seasons ago (16-17), despite of nobody trusted in him at the begining.
