The truth about Getafe's female team.

Ángel Torres said in Onda Cero, a Spanish radio station, that  Getafe CF will have finally the female team that the locals women were asking for since more than 10 years. This new came up just a couple of days after the International Women's Day.


  Getafe managers' objective is to play in the top female's division, where there are already playing female clubs as Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona, Bilbao, and so on.

   The project would start with setting up a female soccer school for girls from 12 to 14 years old, and after, the school would be grown up in the following seasons in order to set up the base for the professional female team.

   In other words, Ángel Torres wants to set up the female school with no cost for Getafe,  he doesn't want to assume any economic risk. He would like to train his own players at early age, and after, to build the professional female team using them as base. It can be seen as a chance for the women, in this age range, who want to reach the top division starting from the ground. But it can also be considered as the directors don't trust enough in the female soccer because they think it won't return any money in short term.

   In the other hand, this new came up after local women have been complaining for many years claiming for an official female team in the city. One of the best role-model is the club A.D Alhóndiga, a local club who took off successfully the female team a few years ago, due to these girls have reached the national Second Division.

   Ángel Torres should consider definitely A.D Alhóndiga as Getafe's role-model or why not to invest money to support them?, because they have already all the structure set up, and the professional female soccer is well known for them.

  At the moment, Getafe's chairman haven't given yet too much detail about this project, so, if you are a woman or a man and you would like to enjoy soccer in Getafe from this point on, you should have a look at A.D Alhóndiga's official website. They will be delighted to have new talents in their school, your gender doesn't matter because they have male team as well.

  To sum up, soccer has to promote equality, fairness, team work and competition, even if we are not totally agree with their way, it is a good point to listen to local women and to set up a female team for them at the city. First because they deserve it and second, because soccer it is not a matter of races or genders, it is just a sport.

Getafe - Bilbao. The UNFAIR VAR decision. Jaime Mata's penalty.

The football match between Getafe and Atlethic was being balanced, but in the latter minutes the neither the referee nor the video assistants referees watched the crystal clear penalty on Jaime Mata for Getafe C.F. In the last ball of the match, while Getafe was attacking and pressing in the Athletic´s box, a grab knocked over Jaime Mata and spread the polemic. After that, the referee allowed the game kept going beyond the extra time (+4 min) apparently waiting for the VAR´s decision, but this decision never happened. Finally, the match finished in a draw 1-1. Probably nobody will read this blog, but I am a Getafe and fairplay supporter and I am feeling the obligation of raise the voice for a small team. A derby with no intensity. Summary of Getafe - Leganés. (30/03/19)

Getafe was deservedly defeated by Leganés 0-2 in the southern Madrid derby.    Getafe supporters did not enjoy a lovely day because their team was unrecognizable. Getafe's playing was regrettable. This two words would be the best way to describe how bad Getafe played Leganés. Perhaps, due to either the unusual time (1:00 pm local time) or the national teams have played for two weeks.    Leganés started dominating the match. In the 15th minute Maksimovic was pointed a penalty when he stopped a shot from Leganés with his hand. The only positive thing of this awful day was when David Soria blocked the penalty shot. The rest of first half wasn't interesting at all.    The firsts attemps of the second half would have seemed that Getafe wanted to win the match but just for a while because Leganés scored in 50th minute (goal awarded by the VAR because the lineman had canceled it by offside).
